If you are still using a restrictive 90 degree elbow, you have no reason to delete the MAF. And even then, if the MAF is really a restriction there is the 85mm Z06 MAF you can upgrade to.

The MAF poses no restriction at all even with the screen. I have the data logs and information in another post on here to prove it. The 90 degree elbow like you said is by far the big restriction.

yea i dont think it is either, id imagine you would have to be making some big horsepower for the maf to be a restriction.

I've only seen a lt1 converted over to SD cause the MAF was making tuning with a power adder a lot of work.

Ed Wright told me that the average build will accept the factory MAF with no problems.

Build like mine the SLP 85Mm MAF is worth up to 4rwhp....so guess whats on my car.

That being said Ed and Ricks LT1s were both SD....Ed tuned my car and told me Id be smarter to go SD since it was more of a track car.

He told me that when he was running low 10's he had an 85mm MAF on it.

We did a speed density tune on mine on the dyno, switched back and forth. Made the exact same power.
