What could be wrong?? I have a 1995 trans am with a 96 engine in it with 50,000 miles. I was out today and I got back into my car to start it up and it had a really rough start up with the oil pressure dropping pretty low and also backfiring but when i would keep the rpm's up on the car it would be fine. Im gonna change my oil because its in really need of an oil change but do you think that could be the cause of it?

Well could be alot of possibilities, but will need some more information. Such as is there a check engine light on, or have you had it checked for any codes. Has you checked your engine oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, as the dash gauge is electronic and may not be reliable. Do you hear any strange noises coming from the engine? Have you done any work to the car recently? If you could provide more detailed information, this will help diagnosing your problem. So let us know what you are seeing/ doing/ hearing.
