im having problems figuring out how to take out the a/c box that is attatched to the firewall. it looks like i have to take the dash off and take it off from the inside. my question is can i just cut it out from inside the engine bay? it looks like i can but im not sure if there is anything having to do with the heat inside the box. any suggestions?

I just got done doing mine. I had to pull the dash and then pretty much bust up everything with a BFH. Real pain in the ***. I've heard of a lot of guys cutting the box from the engine bay if they plan of keeping their heat. I think you would have to have the engine pulled for this method tho.
Whichever way you go good luck! and keep us posted with some pics..

sorry for not having pics but my computer is being a bitch right now. anyway, the project was pretty easy with the engine out. using an angle grinder i cut out the whole right side. (side closest to the engine) the ac core is held in by 2 brackets, one on the front and one on the left side. cut out the front one then pull the core to the right then out. then i just cut the left side of the box from the inside out to make it flush with the firewall. be sure to where a mask because the box is fiberglass. also be carefull not to hit the heatercore lines.

Do you plan of just deleting the A/C or the whole HVAC system??
And I didn't mean to deter you by saying removing the dash is a PITA. Like others said, just take your time and you'll be fine.
