timing cover

Does the oil pan gasket have to be replaced with the timing cover gasket?

I believe if you were careful pulling the timing cover and put a dab of RTV on the corners when re-installing you should be good.

Even if the oil pan gasket tears apart from the two corners you can still use sealant to avoid it from leaking. Because the gasket starts to harden over time there's usually no way to peel it off the timing cover in tact.

mine tore very slightly, i just put some copper seal rtv to make sure it dont leak
