LPE 383 Formula
This is not the exact SEMA/Magazine car car that sold during GM show car liquidation, that was either a 93 or 94 model. But it's that Formula's and Alan's 383 stroker Formula twin. When I saw the listing I was like man couldn't be, then saw the car was a 95 so it isn't. But I know three LT1 memebers who would apreaciate it. Jason had a black LT1 Formula back in the day and I know Mikie is a Formula fan. This isn't so much a tech post, but its LTX super car history.

Great find!! I'd love to have it...mmmmmmmm....I was just saying the other day that itd be cool to have my car in an M6....I may have to make a call...The cool thing is that my car originally came from Courtesy in Decatur and was sent right to LPE for the build...I'd heard from John Lingenfelter years ago that my car was one of less than 20 build by LPE in 1995...The seller's description helps to corroborate the rareness of my car. Very nice...Gotta find out what the reserve is...The truth is that LTs are just not bringing the money anymore...Mine only has 53,XXX miles and in today's market I'd be lucky to get 10K...

Thats why we keep them Alan, cars worth more to me sitting in my garage then what ever I could get by selling it. I used to not get those LPE cars, whats the point, they dont make huge peak numbers like some of the other stuff does. But come to think of it though, those cars have stood the test of time, they drove nice, made power respectable to the era and were reliable as you could get. Drive them any where you wanted and thats what most people want.

For years they destroyed any other aftermarket companies' emissions legal heads/cam combinations and many that were not emissions legal. Hell they still do. It's just that most every broke dick would bitch about how LPE was overpriced when in all actuality their pricing was extremely comparable. It was the cat's meow to be in the mid to low 12's in the mid 90's and LPE cars, especially the 383 cars could do that with ease.

Still only at $6100 and reserve is not met...and no I have no plans of selling my car...Just putting it out there that in todays market they just don't bring the money they used to...Which is good for the next owner of that Formula...
The original owner of my car and I used to get constant flack over how much he paid for the 383 package. Back in the mid 90s there wasn't much around that would beat that thing on the street even with the original 211/219 cam. And it still flew thru MDs strict emissions...
Funny thing is now, 15 years later, the same folks who gave me **** about LPE are on their 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th motors...I'm still flogging the same bottom end 15 years and almost 54,000 miles later. I would never have pulled the heads, but I just wanted to go faster and step up to a slightly bigger, yet still weenie by most standards, cam. And I'm still running the original Comp/LPE valve springs 15 years later! There's something to be said for quality parts and extreme attention to detail...

It's either that or the mouths that say how they could build/install an engine for half the price, yet they too end up the same was as mentioned. You try to ask if they warranty their work the same as LPE does and all of the sudden the subject changes.

Well said, brother. They're either on their 5th motor or they blew the **** up, got frustrated and sold it never to be heard from again. Sure they may of gotten that one hit wonder pass, but at what price? I have gone down that same path.
