Some Questions about 96ws6

ok guys i wanted to know how to find out which ws6 i got like if it has a number!? Kinda hard to describe what i mean but i wanted to ask!! Also my gas gauge doesnt go down past half a tank sny ideas

if you call SLP with your VIN number(found on the driver's side under the windhield on the dash) they are many times able to tell you quite a bit about your car...build numbers, how many where made like that ect. ect.

I didn't think SLP did the ws6's...am I wrong?? I also didn't think that ws6's were numbered just the SS and Firehawks

Ok thanks I guess I was wrong about them being numbered! Any info on the gas gauge? Is that a common problem

The gas gauges on these cars are not the best due to the shape of the tank. Usually you are around 1/4 of a tank when the gauge reads 1/2

Nope...wrong. SLP was the Tier 1 company that did in fact modify the 96 and 97 Firebirds in Canada. As the story goes, GM made SLP a deal - we will continue to allow you to make the Firehawk if you'll be willing to make Ram Air cars for us using GM parts. It was a win-win for both parties - for the most part.

In 98, SLP lost the contract (did not end well from what I heard).

Contact SLP. Even though the original company went under, the current SLP has most of the paperwork showing build numbers. Good luck!

Call SLP with your vin. (6 they kept records and 97 they did not. You should be able to get one. I have #555 and is the second built Formula WS6 from everything I have found.

As others have said, they are numbered but nobody knows what they are unless you contact them. No plaques like the Firehawk.

I got mine when SLP still had a message board 10 years ago...Build #2637
