Default Guess my e/t

So, I'm going to the track this saturday it's the season opener. I'm not sure if I'll need a 5pt bar. Last time I was at the track my car was completley stock and the best I could get out of it was a 14.39. Acording to the rule book because my car is a convertable I'll need the 5pt bar if i run 13.49 or quicker. So going by the mods that have been done in my sig, what do you think I'll run?

I don't want to drive a hour and a half to the track, spend $70, make one pass, and have to drive an hour and a half back home. That would suck!

Do you have street tires or drag radials?

$70? Holy ****!

Atco and Cecil out on the east coast only charge $15-$20 for unlimited runs!

Just street tires... I'm thinking it should be pretty damn close. I just want other peoples opinions. It's a full weight convertable too.

I don't think you will get there without drag radials IMO

There's not alot of competition for them so they can charge more. I only know of 3 tracks around here (mpls/st.paul, mn) and this is the closest one for me.

is the hp/tq your latest numbers? you would need to have added or freed up approx. 100 hp to cut a sec off your times. I'm not seeing it happening. especially on street tires. Did the verts come with sfc's from the factory? if not I would be looking at a set to be installed if your going to drag race the car much.

Adding power isn't the only way to reduce et. . there are multiple things he can do: suspension, tires, converter, weight reduction etc. . all of those things will help his et without adding any power

Yeah those are the latest dyno numbers. I'm not sure about the sfc's coming factory on the verts. Does any one know if they did?

no, the convertables did not come with subframe connectors and from what i understand they are not interchangeable with ones for hard tops. since you are on street tires and stock gears you might not have anything to worry about. if you had 3.73s and drag radials then you would be likely making only 1 pass.

I didn't feel I needed to give every means of reducing et by looking at the mod list. this isn't a tech article specifically ment to help everyone on ls1tech to lower et's he was asking a simple question so I gave a simple answer. I guess next time I'll write a book with disclaimers and cliff notes to please everyone.

By looking at the mod list there are very few items mentioned that would add any hp. there is no mention of a converter or any suspension mods to improve traction. no mention of tire size difference since I would assume the tires are the same ones he used the last go around at the track "Street tires" no dr's. He also didn't mention that he did weight reduction of approx. 300lbs.

You also didn't mention the DA as the contributing factor too in his et's. but let's just keep it simple. that's not the question here.

I would predict with good traction and weather 13.71

Your numbers are strong for an auto with your mods, but I doubt you would break 13.5 without a stall.

If I had to guess, I would agree with 13.7.

When I first took my Vert to the track it ran 13.8 and 2.0 60', that's full weight everything bone stock on street tires except for a muffler, PCM for less tune, and 4.10's. I can see you doing 13.6 or maybe 13.5.

$70 is totally rediculous...$15 here will get you unlimited runs on the only 1/4 mile track in 100 mile radius...

I would think it would be possible for you to break 13.5's...even with your full weight.

Impressive numbers for an A4. With those numbers you may be close to that 13.5 mark, but with street tires the 60 could still be high enough to stay above it.

am I understanding this right? you think he'll run a 13.9 tops? Mine did that with just a CAI...

I understand his is a 'vert and weighs a little more, but I bet he'll be right around the 13.5 mark with LT's/full exhuast, TB, CAI, and a tune...

my car with just bolt ons and full weight went 13.59 and that was spinning like crazy out of the hole. so it really depends on your traction level. ide say i could have went 13.20s with a descent tire at that time. if ur to worried make some part thottle passes first and just keep it over that time and work on your launch. then wen your ready to leave and have your launch perfected then run it hard once before you leave.
