Default which mufflers for true dual?

i cant decide. performance is number one, sound quality is number two, loudness is number three.

every true dual set up i hear sounds great but are way too loud. if thats what it takes to get the most performance, ill deal with it tho. anyone got any ideas?

I used to strictly use dynomax race bullets, but dam they are loud. I switched to spintech awhile back and love them. Great flow and not horribly loud

spintechs or spiralflows are prolly the quietest bullet you'll fit in there

I like 1 chambers personally but they won't tuck as nice as a bullet

here's a vid of mine

I have borla xr1s, the car trapped at 108.x mph with just bolt ons, stock cam, stock suspension, street tires, mechanical water pump, etc. I don't know if that's indicative of the "performance" of the exhaust though.

Sound:

Duals with 3" Dynomax bullets are extreamly loud. Cops follow me a lot. And thats just while crusing. Open it up and its like a four alarm fire. I am looking for something quieter.

I've heard of some people putting 4 mufflers in a true dual setup to quiet it down, before and after the X. It would be more expensive but it wouldn't be as loud.

Here you go:

Scrapes only on very steep driveways or speed bumps that just fall off.

Torque Fiend,

I like the set up, and it sounds great. The X pipe does hang pretty low...is your car stock ride height or has it been lowered? And if you dont mind me asking..how much did the exhaust set you back? Im talking ballpark from headers on back..

Im having to decide which route to save some cash for...the previous owners cut the exhaust on mine..so its just crazy loud and im tired of the interior ratteling so much..but if im doing it, i might aswell do the whole system and do it right..

Pypes M-80 sounds great and is a "canister" style muffler so you can run on street nights at the track

The longtubes and Xpipe from summit, I got used together for about $130, 170 or 210 cant remember.

Bought 2mufflers:$120
Corsa Clone tips: $80
v-band clamps: $90
Cats (had one, bought only one) $60

Fabrication/mounting: Shop charged me (I drove open headers to shop):$440-$470.

OH, the car is stock ride height. I've considered changing to a y pipe because I'm dying to dump this bitch.

If I go w/ a Y, I am going to do an FM merge, classic chambered in the I pipe, and copy the gmmg w/ 2 classic chambered mufflers w/ the same merge?

My set up is just running two straight pipes from the headers to the rear no muffler. I am very happy with them but if you dont like it too loud then i would say dont do it.
