clean the gasket surface very well, being careful not to drop anything into the head ports. Also, make sure you seal up the front and rear portions of the intake very well with some good silicon. On my buddy's car we used "the right stuff," seems to be holding up very well. Run a good sized bead along those two surfaces. Other than that, you should be good!

I just use PERMATEX #82180 ULTRA BLACK Gasket Maker, run about a 3/16" to 1/4" bead in the front and along the rear of the mounting surface. Of course install the intake to head gaskets (had to say this before someone finds the need correct me) but I assume you already knew this. Carefully place the intake on and torque bolts to specs. Shbox has all the tq specs and tightening sequence posted on his site.

When changing an Intake Manifold gasket, do you leave the gasket 'Dry' on both sides and
apply the sealant to the Fore & Aft casting area or apply some to the gasket (Copper RTV)?. What is the approximate time to allow the RTV to set before lowering manifold
onto block?. Also when Torquing bolts is there an optimum time the RTV sets to allow
a good seal and bolt torque ?

The front and rear china walls get a 1/4" thick bead of RTV running up 1/2" onto the cylinder heads/gaskets.
You can set the manifold down onto the RTV/gaskets right away, but make sure you set it down straight and DON'T let it shift.
Once you torque the intake manifold, let it sit for at least 18 hours before starting it up.

usually when i swap one i put the intake on right after putting the rtv on and install the bolts finger tight. if i'm not mistaken the rtv calls for a set time before you torque it down, i just let it sit for an hour or so then torque it and haven't ever had any problems
