No Fuel (I think)

Default No Fuel (I think)
So I tried to start the car today after replaceing intake gasket yesterday and it wont start. Now I took the intake off a couple weeks ago to clean paint ect....so the fuel rails have been completely emptied and the fuel lines were off for the whole time. After finishing up loose ends I tried to start it and nothing. It started for a second and ran ROUGH then died. Now wont start at all. It doesn't seem to be getting fuel. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to do anything special to get fuel back into the fuel rails? Thanks in advance.

did you bleed the fuel rail ? if you have everything hooked up right, you should just have to turn the ignition on and off afew times then bleed the shreader valve on the back of the rail.. make sure you have all the injector plugs in the right spot aswell.

Hmmm Nope didn't bleed them. How would I go about doing that. Oh and I got the pics Chris and looks good to me.

im glad they do john. as for bleeding the fuel rail. turn the ignition on and off afew times. then leave it on and press the small pin in the schrader valve on the back of the fuel rail

air should come out if its air bound. bleed it until nothing but fuel comes out

Ok I did it about 4 times and everytime air would come out then eventually nothing. Do I just keep repeating this over and over till no air all gas?

yes. make sure your pump is working. or that you hav efuel in the tank. you should hear the fuel pump prime.

NP john! i hope it works out for you.i luckily havent had that problem with my camaro. but with my old buick i did. it kept stalling on me. once i bleed the fuel rail it ran perfectly fine

Absolutely freaking rediculous. So I KNOW there was fuel in the tank before I parked it. Obviously it evaporates fairly quick. Of coarse the gauge read empty so 5 gallons of gas later.... Starts lol. I realized this after bleeding the fuel lines 20 times! There is smoke rolling from the engine bay and I'm going to chalk this up to all the cleaning and painting I did (Ihope anyway) since it doesn't smell like oil. This is one for stupid Noob mistakes.

CHECK GAS BEFORE YOU START TO TEAR DOWN THE FUEL INJECTION AGAIN! :/

Runs good. #7 plug wire is arching so it's got a bit of a miss but thats on the to-do list. This smoke is scary me though. I let it run for about 15-20 mins and its still coming every now and then.

what does it look and smell like ? is it antifreeze or oil ?

It's coming from the back. nothing is dripping that I see. Doesn't really smell like either. Will hafta dig around tomorrow when it light again I guess

could just be condensation burn off... did you check your spark plugs ?
