Default stripped flexplate bolts

Hey guys I picked up a motor to swap into my car. Anyways mine is a 6 speed and this car was an auto. So I got 4 of the 6 bolts out but the other ones stripped. Any ideas on how to get these out. We tried some vice grips but no luck. So what would you guys do?

I assume you stripped the bolts on the flexplate. Usually you can use a chisel to get a bite on the bolt and then 'motivate' the stripped bolts.

Get the chisel started into the bolt head then start the motivation. Another is to use a torch...since it is not in car (I'm sure you didn't install then decide to remove bolts) you should be able to transport it if the chisel doesn't work to get someone to heat the bolt heads with a torch.

Good luck

These work excellent for that. I've used them on LT1 flexplate bolts before.

yeah its still out of the car. Going to try heating them up and some pb blaster. then vice grips or a chisel.

they make tools for that for a reason, if you mess up which is likely, you're gonna wish you spent the time/money to do it right in the first place.

bought some extractors. Got them cheap at harbor freight when I was picking up some other stuff. Try them out tonight.

I did the same thing, wasn't paying attention and grabbed a metric socket. When I hit it with the impact wrench it ripped the head apart. I ended up drilling it out, which took forever.
