im havin a day...

first the transmission in my daily is locked up. Then today my 96 t/a broke. It stinks like raw fuel in the engine bay, ses light is blinking, has a miss at idle, and back fires when it has a load on it. when you put it in drive or reverse it will back fire every few seconds with out even hitting the gas. any ideas? car drove fine all day and then all of a sudden this happens. Its an automatic, mostly stock, has no cats, long tubes, o2 simulators (which the red led is blinking like crazy), msd opti, egr is still hooked up. let me know if you need any other info. thanks

Check the coil,icm,pull a couple plugs out and see what they look like.also check the hose going to the fuel pressure regulator for fuel.

The rotor on the opti may have become loose. It seems to be fairly common with the MSD optis.

I am assuming that the o2 sims are for the downstream o2 sensor to keep from kicking a code due to having no cats. It should still have oxygen sensors in the collectors and therefore the sims would have absolutely no affect on engine performance. Flashing SES is for a misfire as stated earlier, I hate to say it as i almost never do but it sounds like the opti rotor.
