I think you should get an engine stethoscope to see if you can pinpoint exactly where the noise is being generated. That way instead of unnecessarily buying parts you can find out exactly what is going on.

Trick Flow is Summit's house brand.

Howards is local to me and I have never heard a bad thing.

Realistically though there are VERY few lifter manufacturers out there, lots of brands though.

some of howards stuff is made by morel i believe, might be just the solid stuff though. if you're interested i have a new set of crane lifters ill let go for 150 bucks. ive been running the old style 875s from comp for over 4 years now.

Yeah I figured that many "brands" are made by very few manufacturers. The Trick Flow stuff seems decent, but I'm leaning towards Howards for the lifters and Trick Flow for the push rods. Either way I have over 5 years on the lifters and 15 on the push rods. Couldn't hurt to change them anyway and at least now I'll know exactly whats in there.

^^^^^Hey nevermind, but thanks for the offer...Shop ordered the Howards lifters...and I called Howards directly and their entire line of lifters is made by Morel, fyi. This is good info to know seeing as they are only $155 from Summit.

Stop spending. Go get a proper stethoscope or find a method to pinpoint the noise. I did this on a friends LT4 vette and was able to pinpoint down to the intake lifter on cyl #5. it was that accurate.

What kind of balancer do you have on ? Mark it and check to see if it is moving (broken or separated inside). Certain rpms will produce vibrations and the balancer could be slipping etc.
