going to be doing my plugs and wires in about a week, but im removing the stock manifolds and putting on full exhaust at the same time.

You may want to do the motor mounts too while the exhaust is out.

OK, this is how I did my #2 plug (from the top with a stock exhaust):

1. Remove Alternator (A given!)
2. Put shorty / SLP socket on plug (by feel)
3. Put larger 3/8 drive socket over hex head on outside of shorty / SLP socket (by feel as well)
4. Using a 3/8 drive air ratchet, remove plug, SLP socket, and larger socket as assembly.

Give that method a try...

Having said that, removing the entire air pump and tube system helped the second time I replaced my plugs.
