If you have the stock rear end, they all leak. You cant stop it from leaking around the pinion seal.

Thats cool. As long as the groves are gone and it stops slinging gear oil every where.

If you have a six speed and you are gonna beat on it at the track get a 9 inch, otherwise a 12 bolt.

Or if you're crafty, do a 7.5/8.8 hybrid (cheap alternative to an after market rear that will surely out-last a factory 10 bolt if setup correctly).

I've had 3 12 bolts and they all have had leaky pinion seals. It is what it is.

That alone is a reason not to get a 12, I hate leaky pinion seals.

If you want the car to be fast, buy what you need. I got a buddy with a 700 rwhp Z28 with a 12 bolt and a six speed his has never leaked. He beats the crap out it on the street.

A nine inch will slow the typical F body down over a 12 bolt with weight and drivetrain loss.

If you are not gonna be running in the low 1.40 sixty foots or quicker in a 3600lb+ car, have a six peed car that you are gonna launch at 5500 rpm on slicks you dont NEED a nine inch IMO.

There are guys running tens on the 7.5 stock rear.

My car would be quicker with a 12 bolt.
