I have heard the ratio for certain years is almost 4 autos for every one six speed built. When I was car hunting back in '00, I ran across only one six speed and it was sold by the time I called. My buddy Jon bought his 94 Z28 in '99 and it was the same story. My TA is getting a six speed to replace the auto.

Based on this thread, I would say 28 of every 30 LT1 owners have a six speed. That's almost 10%.

I've never seen another '97 like mine...just a Z28, not an SS, yet it has 30th anniversary gray cloth seats from the factory (have the 30th logo on both front seats and center of back seat). I'm not sure if all 97 Z28's came with these seats or not.
Pratty sure all 97's weather it's a 6cyl, z, or SS had the 30th on the seats like that. My Wifes 97 which was a 6cyl has them (grey cloth), and the wrecked 97 Z had them in tan leather.

Ordered mine with a M6.

FWIW, mine ran 13.5 when it was stock back in 96. It was the only time at the track completely stock. Put 4.10 gears, 160 t-stat, and HPP+ and it went 13.18 next time out in early 97. At the time, it seemed it was one of the quicker ones on the F-Body list for those mods.

Mines a stripper 6 speed, only option came with is fog lights and cruise control.

Ive read long time ago that 93-97 LT1 6 speed was standard and auto's were optional
but for the 98-02 the 6 speed was optional, and auto's were standard. Its really hard to say if LT1 6 speed are "rare". I still see them for sale all over this area.
