Default Monster transmission Dead with pics

Ok so I am going to get more pics this week I hope as I am going to take this thing down to my NEW trans guy so he can take it apart and see what left inside. As you can see by the pics more than likley not much. This is just what was in the bottom of the pan when I took it off to put a junk pan on while I take it out of the car.

This one lasted a year but only about 3 to 4 thousand miles as I did an engine build this year and the car was off the road for about 4 months.

If you know what makes a good 4L60E all you have to do is read their website to know they can't build you one.

Yea no warrenty It just ran out a few months ago. It is a 4l60-e and was supposed to be able to hold 500 to 600 hp. I don't make that much power. I am 383 lt1 with LE2 heads and mild cam for torque.

What do you mean? I had no clue as to what to do to a 4l60E or even how they worked untill I bought one of monsters transmissions and it broke within 500 miles. I spent 3 months dicking around back and forth with them and they kept saying it was electrical untill I finaly beat the **** out of it and broke it. This was a warrenty replacement for the first one. It ran great until last week. It sounded like a bomb went off under the car lol.

I am considering going back to an auto but I think I will do a 4L80E. Don't feel like breaking a 4L60. lol

Also curious as to what kind of power you are making out of the 383 with LE heads, that my next set-up before the auto provided my T56 holds up.

What I was saying is Monster does bad work.

The 4L60E is MORE than capable of surviving any NA LT1 and even the overwhelming majority of forced induction ones IF you use a good builder and tuner.

There is a 4400lbs Impala hunting 8s with a 4L60E, he is having a hard time keeping gears in it though, still a 8.5" and he is stripping the 3.73s. It is a 1500hp car with a LOT of stock parts, stock pcm, stock opti.

A few 9 second f-bodies run 4L60Es too.

Is a good tranny in good hands but there are more bad hands than good out there.

i think you should consider suing them, or doing a chargeback on your credit card if they will still accept it. ******* automatics..

Not all autos are bad. I beat the living **** out of my new Performabuilt and it still drives fine. Joe has an impressive running car and is doing a Performabuilt... meh low 11's, high 10's... no biggie

There are also a lot of guys running good on FLT and CPT. I would not stray too much past those 3 I just mentioned, but that is based upon the personal experiences of my friends and myself. If I forgot to mention a quality built 4l60e, my bad ahead of time
