Default Battery Not Charging After Relocation

I recently relocated my battery to the rear and now it doesn't want to take a charge. I had the battery (1000 amp) and alternator checked and they are both fine. I have my positive cable going straight to the starter with the old front post with the alternator cable just taped up. Do you think I should run the alternator cable to the starter or maybe even all the way back to the battery? What if anything have you guys done with the alternator line?

You should have three wires connected to the positive terminal of your battery. One to the starter, one to the alt, and one to the little red distribution block to power the fuse block.

There are many ways to do it. I ran one large positive from rear battery to a Ford Solenoid in engine bay then from Ford solenoid to the starter. I fed the power from the powered side of solenoid to the alternator and car power distribution.

I prefer using a Ford solenoid on firewall, some prefer wiring directly to the stock solenoid on engine--either way works so 6 half dozen the other.

As stated you likely forgot to feed the alternator or distribution.

Good luck

In a similar fashion, I ran my monster / welding cable pos line to an aftermarket distribution block I mounted near the battery's original location.

Also, keep in mind that your neg cable should be the same size as your pos, and it too should route up to the engine compartment (just like the pos line).
