Default Another LT1 together

Finally going to button my LT1 together in the next couple of days. I got it all together but the heads and intake. Got to blend the ports where the CNC programs meet and get them together. Im going to hang it on the engine dyno saturday to make sure its leak free and all good to go. Ill try to post some dyno graphs of it with a carb and supervic intake. Im getting anxious to say the least lol.

Yea its a 355 with a stock crank, H beam rods, SRP pistons, Advanced Inductions camshaft, with ported stock castings. Cam is a 228/235 dur with .612 lift on a 108 spread. 11.8:1 compression. Heads are 185 cc intake runners that flowed 288 at .600 on a SF600 bench. Exh went 224 with a pipe at .600. Running a Supervic single plane intake with a 750HP holley on the engine dyno to break it in. Im running a regular LT1 intake in the car though. Ive cut the top off of it and done quite a bit of porting to it as well. Thats pretty much it on the motor. Its all stock appearing on the outside.

I don't see a supervic helping a baby cam/small headed 355 much unless you are spinning insane RPMs, but it will give you room to grow.

Should be a stout combo, sounds like fun

Yea your right about the manifold. The only reason im running it is to break the motor in. Its just what i had layin around the shop. I did forget to note that i converted the heads over to 8mm valves because i got a deal on the valvetrain out of a set of practically new AFR heads that were being converted over to the solid roller valvetrain. That should add a few RPMs to it. I would think the combination is going to nose over around 6500. So it wont be seeing any insane RPMs.

Yea it definitely does. Im having to borrow a friends shop for a day to get the motor swapped out. Its ashame that we have a shop in the backyard for that, but alighnment racks dont work to well with dropping engines lol, and we dont have a 4 point lift. So i will prolly have to hurry up and wait till i can get it in.

use a cherry picker I had a 2 post lift the first time I did it and used a cherry picker and jack stands the second time. It really wasn't any easier on the lift if you already have an idea what potential snags are out there

I may have to before its all said and done. The AC isnt charged so snatching the condenser out is no problem. Ive dropped a couple of these out and it seemed fairly easy coming out the bottom to me.

Well i finally got the LT1 together and on the engine dyno. Just thought i would share the power figures with everyone. This is with a out of the box victor junior and a 750 HP holley. I know i said earlier that i was planning to run a supervic, but i found the victor junior layin around the shop so i figured the motor would like it better, but i was wrong. The motor was asking for more carb past 6000 RPMs. Im sure with a supervic and a 850 carb would easily break 500 HP. This was at 34 degrees of timing on sonoco purple which is 110 octane.
