tranny line, which is which I am in the process of installing a trans cooler.
On my 96' Z28 (stock 4L60E, with stock radiator) which of the two lines is the fluid coming from the transmission and which is the return line that sends the fluid back to the transmission. (refering to each as top or bottom, in reference to where they hook up to the stock cooler)
I'm thinking the bottom line is the outgoing of the trans because when I rotated my engine over many times while setting valve lash the front pump on the transmission was ofcoarse turned over a few times and puked alittle fluid out of the bottom of the two lines going to the stock cooler.

It is a Hayden Unit that Yank threw in for free with a sale they were having on their converters when I bought a SS3600 from them recently. It says in the directions the best way to hook it up (for optimum cooling) to hook it in series with the trans line before the inlet on the stock cooler. So the new cooler is cooling the fluid first before sending it to the stock cooler.

Since you have a Hayden cooler, it's best to hook it up in series with the stock cooler like you're doing. I had a similar setup (same Hayden cooler) before I bypassed the OEM cooler altogether because I went with a bigger, better B&M cooler by itself.
