weird fuel problem
weird fuel problem Ok I have a weird problem, I thought it was my fuel pump or relay but now I'm thinking it's electrical or ignition.
When I turn the key to ON, the fuel pump does not turn on, however if I turn the key just past ON but not fully engaging the starter, it's there between ON and running that it does turn the fuel pump on for the usual few seconds, then shuts it off. So that behavior with the relay is working, just not at the correct place.
If I start the car it does fire up but only runs for less than a second then shuts off.

yeah I'm thinking that's probably what it is. Since, when I release the key after starting it that's when it shuts off. It seems to have some kind of electrical problem at the on position unless you turn it further.

Good probability it's the ignition switch, before you buy a new one I would check to make sure that it hasn't just moved on the column. It has slotted mounting holes and if it has moved it could act like yours.
