What does DD stand for? And what does a "stall" do?

I would suggest doing what most of us f-body owners do. Start out with bolt on's. There are a lot out there that you can do without spending much of anything.

dd = daily driver, a car that you drive daily

stall is a torque converter, one of the best mods for auto cars.

Get longtubes then some 4:10's, then a cam. Course then you will need to look at tires cause they won't last very long lol

Oh ok. Thanks a lot. Is there a brand of torque converter you recommend?

Yank and Vigilante are arguably the best.

ok, someone mentioned a "3600 stall." Is that what you would recommend also? And I see someone is saying 4.10 gears instead of 3.73......???

torque converters are rated by their stall speed. 3600 is an example stall speed, there's all different ones though.

And you definitely do not want 4.10s in an auto. 3.73 is pushing it.

Couple more quick questions. I would like to get the exhaust done first, but after that which would be more beneficial, 3.73 (or other) gears or a torque converter? And I see they sell torque converters with and without a "lockup clutch." Which would be best?

I would go with the gears first. But you really can't go wrong with either one - whatever your budget will allow. If you can, do them both at the same time.

If you want to retain your gas mileage, you want a lock-up clutch. At cruising speed with the lockup engaged your converter will be "locked" at a 1:1 ratio, eliminating any slip. Also, don't settle for anything less than a 3200 stall speed.

It's all a matter of opinion I guess, I daily drive with 4.11 rear and a 4l60e and I love it, but I've also never felt what a lower ratio feels like. I will say they suck for highway driving though as I sit around 3,000rpm at 70mph.
