Default My first 1995 z28, current issue..

I just bought my first 95' camaro, it has a front 99 z28 conversion, k&n cold air intake and filter, unknown exhaust, b&m shifter. I notice a little ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine. okay the problem i'm having is when I'm in 1st gear at low rpms, say for instance i'm fully disengaged with the clutch in first gear and rolling at 5 mph and i punch on the gas at wide open throttle, when it gets up to about 3500 rpm the whole car feels like the fuel just shut off or something and jerks me so hard forward that my hand punches the stereo deck lol. what can possibly be the problem with my car? this also happens in 2nd gear if i'm in low rpms. but i noticed that if i ease on the throttle and work my way up to WOT it runs fine and strong.

yeah, feels like the whole car shuts off for a sec, then i'd let off the gas, get back on it but this time i ease into the throttle and it's fine, as long as it's in high rpms it doesn't do it.

ticking may be an exhaust leak

to test TPS you can unplug it, you will lose power as i beleave it goes into limp mode, and the SES light will come on. But you should beable to drive the car to see if it still falls on its face like you said it does. If the problem goes away, replace the TPS they are about $12 at a parts store. If the problem does not go away, plug it back in and check other things

Unplugging the TPS won't tell you anything...the right way to test it is with a multimeter.

OP, I'd start with a basic fuel pressure test.

thanks for the input, i am going to change my plugs and wires next week when i get paid. also, last night i was leaving a parking lot and like i said my problem happens when im on the load at low rpms especially when im in first gear taking off,and then when my problem happened last night and all of the needles on the gauges dropped straight down and the lights/headlights everything shut off for that quick second it falls on its faces but shot right back up when i pushed the clutch in and let off the gas. i didn't notice the needles or anything before because it happens to me in the daytime but this time i noticed it cause it was night and i had them on.

can this maybe explain why the valve cover on this same side is a little sludgy and dirty?

The passenger side ticking is an exhaust leak.

The shut off problem, is fuel related, either a bad/ clogged fuel filter and/or fuel pump.

Thanks, i think the cheapest thing to replace right now would be the fuel filter.

Yup! fuel filter lol, also..i noticed that there are lines that come up from out of the headers on both side from bunges, i believe these are the egr...i think the driver side is a steel line and the passenger side is a long rubber hose?(at least mine is) but it is cracked and i think that's what is making the ticking noise, i haven't got a new hose yet but it's a 5/8's hose.

How many miles are on the car? Mods? We need lots and lots of details.
And yeah, it sounds like you have an exhaust leak and some fuel/spark issues.

Did you check the fuel filter like someone stated above? Simple thing that can cause a headache.

yeah, i changed it out a few days ago, and when i test drove i stayed at low rpms in 1st and opened up the throttle and it didn't fall on its face, did it a few times and i thought the problem was fixed. then the next day it happened again. as i mentioned before, when it does fall on its face all of the electricity goes out for that second, the needles drop, my deck turns off, etc
