How do you figure? All original, from original owner with all documentation for maintenance and his order sheet for the car and window stickers etc... The car was like brand new when I got it even with the mileage.

people that are saying that 11,000 is too much for a good condition LT1 SS or WS6 are ignorant (im not talking ****) because they have never owned one; they are use to z28s or TAs which will never bring in that much...

I've had multiple offers for my car that were well beyond what I paid for it since I brought it to Hawaii. I guess it's all about who wants it and how bad... There's not even a Bluebook price for these cars and I had to get mine appraised just to get insurance on it.

Honestly I don't think you got ripped off, I would buy a car with 112k miles on it that was owned and well mantained by the same person its entire life before I'd buy a beaten on 60,000 mile car that had unknown number of oil changes and owners. IMO cars need to be driven, that 112,000 mile SS probably truley is as good as a new one if properly mantained. Don't let people tell you that you overpaid, yes you could have paid less.. But you know what you got and YOU know it was worth your hard earn dollars.

i didn't say smarter...i said i'd disagree with you. i looked for a year for the perfect car. i found it down in florida. an old guy owned it and pretty much babied it. he was probably the most honest guy i've ever dealt with when buying a car. its also a convertible which i couldn't find anywhere around me. so when i saw the ad, 12,500 was totally worth it to me and still is to this day

Bullshit on being a SS. Wrong wheels, exhaust and paint. If it is indeed a true SS then have him show the SLP stickers. Don't tell him where they are either. Just another poser attempt at a bad clone.

Or just get the VIN and check with SLP. My car didnt have the SS hood or airbox (still needs a hood) when I got it just about a month ago, but it is SLP build # 2438. Also, someone listed SS production for 97 and are probably right, but they can be broken down into white/orange stripes 30th ann SS's and the regular SS's of which there were 1930 that year. I'm kinda glad mine isn't one of the anniv special cars because I'm not partial to white or orange. Just my personal preference.

First off, I agree it seems likely this is a clone, but lets just assume its real for a minute. I'm trying to figure out how 11k is overpriced for the type of car this is? I see why most of us wouldn't pay that. It wouldn't be conducive to what most of us are after, which is a mod platform, but the prices you guys are throwing out though are about what a Z28 or T/A is worth, at least in my part of the country. Not to mention it is a 6 spd, which if none of you have noticed drives the price up as well. I paid $7750 for my 97 M6 Z28, and that seemed to be about the going rate at the time for a low mileage, cared for M6 car. I could find cheaper ones but they were all A4s or beat to hell. A Z28 or T/A are ultra mass production cars. Yeah nice ones are getting a bit rare, but none the less there's still plenty of nice ones left and they are a very common car. A 96 SS though is a collector car, so that will be reflected in its value. And as a side note I am not just calling it a collector vehicle by my standards. It is actually listed under that classification by the NADA. I wouldn't pay 50k for a numbers matching 454 chevelle either when I could simply make a Malibu into the same thing. Doesn't make the numbers matching car worth any less.
