Airflow sensor??

Default Airflow sensor??

On an lt1 does gutting out the airflow sensor inside help any? keep the sensor parts but take the honey comb stuff out. Will this help??

Some argue that it helps, others don't. I took mine out 10 years ago only because I was naive and didn't know any better, but 10 years later I'm still on the same MAF with no problems.

Will you gain anything with it? Probably not. Its purpose is to smooth out the airflow going into the MAF so the sensor wires receive a laminar flow of air.

this is a can of worms and will probably have 5 pages of people insulting each other by the end of next week

personally, mine is descreened. Ran fine with it, runs fine without it. Did I gain anything? I have no idea-not from what I can tell anyway. But every bit helps I geuss...it's not a night and day difference (if a difference at all) by any means. And like was said above, the cars run fine without it.
