which oil pump do you reccomend?
which oil pump do you reccomend? was just looking at melling oil pumps the have standard OE 10% and 25% more then OE. which one is everyone using and what part number none of the ones on jegs list the 93-97 lt1. ill be using the stock pan what else will i need for this?
The oil pump is the most lubricated part of the motor and doesn't wear like other parts, so I'd say reusing the stock one is fine (if it's low mileage like you say). It wouldn't hurt to replace it with the 10554 though.

if your bearing clearances are set up for a high volume (bigger clearances) than get that. if not a stock with HP spring.
have run both, have a HV with stock pan in current 383......and no it does not pump the pan dry under any driving/racing conditions I have been in.

Some people say it's not possible to run the pan dry while others have had it happen. For the safety of my own motor, I wouldn't risk it, so I went with the Canton 242T.
