Question about Comp camshaft guys...

Default Question about Comp camshaft guys...

My friend ordered a cam from summit and I was looking at it and it has no threads where it bolts to the cam sprocket... Just 3 empty holes, im guess it needs to be threaded?

It should already be treaded My comp was already treaded

never seen a cam without the threaded holes. thats to hold the cam plate on it. theres no point in non threaded holes except for the dowel pin

Crappy cell picture but its just been drilled but not tapped for threads.



I cant get better pictures if you guys want, but its not gonna change the fact that this cam isnt threaded lol

Send it back bro, it should have been threaded at the factory.

You could give it to a machine shop to tap for you if your not bothered with returning it.

Were calling summit up to see if we can get a replacement.

nice quality control at comp cams. that is bullshit. i would get fired from my job if i missed a set of tapped holes and sent a part out. customers dont go for that ****.

If we were in a hurry, I would have called Comp and bitched them into giving up a free cam for the hassle.
