IMO, LPPs or Kooks are the best. Do you have emissions to worry about?

As far as the install is concerned, you'll get tons of info with a search.

I dont really see alot of LTx guys running Hookers. Money can be spent better elsewhere for different headers instead of paying for a name.

If you can afford it, get some good, stainless headers.

Thumbs up

Hey:

Go stainless, all other regular steel headers will rust, coated or not. Kooks, LPP, and many other stainless brand headers, or even cheap ebay stainless headers are better or as good as any over priced Hooker header. Whom ever told you that has a loose definition of best fit, maybe easier install and lower ground clearance, for more money, is what they meant. Any company that makes a tight fitting header will have install issues or prep compromises that have to be done on 3rd and 4th gen F bodys, its just the way it is. Sorry to disagree but Hookers are far from the best header for these cars......., to many other better choices, especially for the price.

I just swapped over to some LPP's from the Hookers and I will tell you that the LPP's fit much better overall (regardless of having to massage the frame rail a little) and look tons better than coated Hookers. Also, the Hookers use a slip fit on the #1 primary and it leaks horribly. Listen to what the others have said here.

Here's my install thread for the LPP's

Don't forget to install poly motor mounts during the headers install.

Why poly mounts? This is a 14k mile car don't want to have to modify te frame or change mounts.

Cause they improve gound clearance and they last forever. Motor mounts is not something I would plan on changing twice. The rubber ones last a while, but I keeps cars for hundreds of thousands of miles, rubber ones won't last that long. And changing them with LT headers in place is not fun at all.

The rubber mounts break down even without high miles over time they can still be worn down. Its much easier to replace them when doing the headers then to find out after that you have to anyway.

But with my mileage I should be ok correct? Also is there a good
chance I won't have to massage the frame? Honestly I like the lpp but if the pacesetters require less modification to fit I rather do that

The fact is not every header will drop right in without modification. Depending on each car, you may or may not get lucky. Just be prepared for it.
