Default Poll-383 stroker...

Do you guys think it is cheaper to build a 383 or buy one already done?I found 4 bolt main all forged short blocks for 3700.

Just my machine work ran me 1300 and I've heard that was fairly cheap. Block, heads, intake. But then you throw a $900 crank in and cc306, pistons, rings, yada yada. It's cost me over 4000 to do mine to where I think it will last.

I would prefer to have one built locally. That way you can keep an eye on the build process and follow up with the shop if there are any issues in the future. It's a smarter way of going about it, IMO.

My buddy bought a 383 block from a shop a few hours away from here, afterwards he took all the components up to TPIS in minneasotta to have it built and they took apart the block and fixed sooo much stuff...he ended up paying extra for his "good" deal on the block
