Default Harness and ECM

What harness should I get for my v8 swap? I am told 94 and 95 (OBD I) is non-programmable. True or BS? The motor is from a 94 caprice cop car and going into a 94 Camaro originally a v6. Will a 1996 Camaro OBD 2 harness and ECM work? Or do I have to stick with the appropriate year? I am also worried the 96 might not work in conjunction with the 94 VATS system. Please tell me my options. This is a budget build and I am not looking to spend hundreds on a aftermarket ECM and harness, but I might send in the harness to make it a stand-alone system.

That's BS. They are all programmable, even the 93 (but you need a chip burner). Go with a 94 or 95 harness+pcm. Much easier to wire up and tune as opposed to OBDII

What about a C4 harness and ECM? Or any other car that had the LT1: Roadmaster, Caprice, Impala SS, etc Will I be able to use these?

Yes but from what I've seen the f-body harness is th easiest to route in most cars.

its a bitch to find a stock harness. junkyards dont have them. the chop them up to get other parts out. the only ones on ebay are for manual trannys. and the aftermarket ones are 600 plus dollars. anybody have one for sale?!?!

i have one. it is missing one plug. i cant remember which one but other wise the harness is good. still in the box that it was shipped to me. its out of a 95 a4. make me an offer that includes shipping and its yours.

the one i had is from a 95 camaro a4. the plug its missing is like 5-10 bucks. i bought it off someone parting there car out.

I have a 94 Z28 m6 that I'm removing the engine harness and pcm from the car because I'm swithching to the EFI connection 24x setup with an LS1 pcm and custom harness.
