just bought myself 97 ws6
just bought myself 97 ws6 and just wanted know if the dang coolant temp sensor is responsible for the fans not kicking on, i did some checks and i can switch it on from the relay where the pcm usually commands it on but the pcm wont command it on; now i unplug the sensor from the front of the w/p and the pcm will kick the fans on, so i'm assuming there is something wrong with the sensor since the fans dont turn on with the sensor plugged in but will turn on when i disconnect it... its a cheap fix but just wanted to see what guys think
The fans turn on when you disconnect the sensor because you are setting the SES light in doing so. Whenever there is an SES, the PCM automatically turns on the fans.

LOL i figured this crap out the smart basterd who i bought the car from put the hose from waterpump that goes to the radiator on in the spot where the reservoir hose is supposed to go and vise versa so as soon as the water heated up it expanded in to the tank and straight out how gay is that! but oh well i bought the car for 2 g's because he thought the head gaskets were blown i dont know which one sounds more stupid but i got a great running ws6 for 2 grand!!
