Thanks, I loaded them backwards on the album I made on Photobucket. I use polyurethane aircraft paint we have at work and is super durable stuff, also easy to clean. I wish all deleted all the emission stuff though...

So what combo of extensions and/or swivels did you use to get the elusive head bolts on the passenger rear by the heater box?

Medium 6pt. socket with 4 in. extension, with my torque wrench it barely cleared the top of the valvstems, maybe a 1/8". I was able to do both sides with that set-up. I originally bought the Fel-pro headbolts but had some issues with torquing them right so I pulled them out and went with some ARP's instead. Torqued 25, 50, then final at 75. I let them sit for 24hrs. and then rechecked the torques before going any further. While I had it apart I cleaned everything I could get to and also pulled the whole front of the engine apart and scrubbed every nut and bolt. Rerouted most of my wires and it looks way better than it did. I still want to do the fuel line mod to hide them but ran out of money, that's next then I'm gonna repaint both shock towers.

First time I've seen an LT1 intake done in white, looks great on your car!

What head gaskets did you go with?

I got tired of trying to keep the bare aluminum clean and this paint cleans off really easy without yellowing. As far as the valvecovers, I would like to get some billet ones soon and start polishing up all the aluminum brackets and water pump pieces...

The white definitely looks nice now, but I would be real weary of that intake looking like crap soon after you start driving it. That's going to show every speck of gunk and grime. If you don't like keeping bare aluminum clean, then white may not have been the best choice.

JMHO, of course.

I was thinking about doing it red but didn't want people to think I was trying to pose it as an LT4. This paint actually wipes down really easy and if it gets too messed up I have everything at work to strip it back down and try something else. If I had the Hugger Orange Anniversary stripes I probably would have done it that color instead.
