Absolutely not worth risking that in my opinion, I would not try to weld it. You could run into balance issues and if it ever came apart it would do a lot of damage.

Trying to cut corners and save a buck now WILL bite you hard later. Plus if you actually figure the cost of having someone weld it then having it balanced you would have more into it than a new gear lol.

You need PN: 10128349 from GM. You can get it from Summit for 60 bucks

I agree with you, it is not something that should be done! Bob

I was gonna offer the one I have laying around as well but I wouldn't mix and match used gears with a new chain etc.

I would replace the whole timing set with new. But that's just me

Hell no! why would you even attempt or ask to fix one of the more important pieces in a engine.

Welding is a bad idea on pretty much anything that rotates, especially at that speed. Even if the weld holds there's pretty much no way it will be properly balanced anymore because the material left from your weld would likely have the same effect as if you put a small weight on it.

If you wouldn't perform a weld repair on a connecting rod, crankshaft, camshaft etc, you probably shouldn't here either. While it could be made to work, cost would exceed that of a new piece.

you can balance and weld anything. but like everyone else said. not a good idea. it would be too much money and too much time involved in it, they dont cost that much to replace.
