I know this for a fact. Be sure to attatch the chain to two lift points and not one, Stability is a good thing.

Use a tow strap so you don't take all the paint off it.

i used a tow strap and wrapped it through the subframe where the overflow tank goes and where the cold air goes so that i had both sides. then i lifted the body up with my hoist wrapped around the middle of the tow strap. it worked very well and simple.

looks simple enuff. i do have a question when you have unbolted everything what bolts should be the last, so when you have it on thew ground you only have what bolts to take out before you pickup the body off the frame?

Make sure you have a cradle to roll it out on too.

The last bolts I did are the 6-Kmember bolts and the first ones where the shock towers and brake stuff.

that's exactly how i hooked mine in, but i overlapped the tow strap a few times. I used my ibeam in the garage and pulled up with a chain hoist, didn't use a cherry picker to lift the car. so you couldn't see the tow strap in my car as it was doubled up.

Also, the last thing i did was 6 kmember bolts. get a dolly under there to support the engine and trans. I used a $15 furniture dolly and a 2x12 that was about 5 feet long that I put on top of the dolly and extended it so that it supported the trans too. don't forget the steering knuckle disconnect and removal. It will not slide off when you raise the body up, you don't want that.

and you're going to have crap everywhere if you haven't drained the fluids and even if you did, you'll have all the years of crud on there that will be filthy. I wish I would have done a thorough power wash before I started, it was filthy. so much nicer working with clean parts.

can I use some floor jacks to roll it out from under the car? Also isn't there some way to use a STB, leave the wheels on, and just roll it out from under the car?

No, the K-member houses the Upper/Lower A-arms and shock towers, thats all attached to the wheels. You basicaly take the whole front end out from the car, everything. You just have chassis left.

And I would really recommend* getting a roller cart, you do not want to be messing around with a floor jack when you barley have 3" off room to pull the engine out from under the car when its raised in the air. Quick and easy, you pull the car up and roll the goods out.

Here is another picture of once its out. I guess if you do the job outside you have unlimited vertical space but in a garage you are limited and I have a single plane, so its even tighter.
