don't mean to hijack, but never paid atttn. to my old lt1 when i had it. (didn't mod it at all) there is a mechanical drive gear to a water pump on this motor? sorry curiousity got me.

Yes there is, the cam gear drives the water pump gear and a little drive shaft connects to it and turns the pump.

First i'd like to say thanks to all that have replied!...... so i guess my question is how/what do i do to my water pump to make it electric? say i buy the CSR motor from ebay or summit or ect...... what do i do with it? just bolt it on the front of the stocker? do i gut the stocker some how? <~Michael~>

thanks Joe, but i'm looking for a lil more info than that..like tips on rebuilding the pump recommendations on CSR part#,and wiring....i've never seen the inside of the pump.... so.....so theres no surprises and dosnt take repeated trips to the hardware store, help a bro out.... <~Michael~>

It's really easy. Take off the front cover of the pump, then using a punch, pound out the center impeller from the front to the back, then pound out the bearing and seal from the back to the front. The CSR pump requires minor grinding (a Dremel or equivalent) to clear the mounting ears of the pump. Install the supplied freeze plug in the back of the pump and you're done.
