Can you give me some details on what all you've done to your engine?

Brady, you want to test that theory for us? .

IIRC you guys had your differences, but still sorry to hear. GL with the sale.
N20dave made 700+ with a SB2.2 head, stock block. All motor.

Mindgame made 675+ a LONG time ago with old style GM 18* heads and a LT4 intake, 383 stock block.

1500+ with a single turbo, stock block. Name escapes me at the moment, had a dark green Formula.

Yeh my Dad was not the best on earth by far, we did not get along. Thats another story.

I have his entire engine for sale less intake, he was trying to build the baddest 23* head LT1 ever to breathe.....never made it.

I was really talking NA - Daves car is a sick example though. Rumor has it that it not only scoots down the strip, but can take the curves as well .

I think there were quite a few people who made well over a grand back in the day - Sikora, Intrau, and Baxter are the three names that I remember the easiest, and Big Purple ran 8's but I forgot his real name - the nasty firebird that he parted out .

Personally, I want one of the nastiest all motor HR LTXs to ever roam the streets . Even after the parts coming in got more and more radical I still try to tell myself its a street car .

**edit** I think Chris is going to find where the limit of the stock block is or isn't very soon now ...

You are looking at this the wrong way. NASCAR engines shouldn't even be discussed in this conversation. That's like comparing apples to cinderblocks.

Their sound can be attributed to so many more factors than just 8,000 RPM. Compression, exhaust, cam, head design, etc etc etc.

Jussssayin.

I agreed that their sound is distinctive because of what you just mentioned. BUT when any motor is spinning higher than usual RPM, it has a all around badass sound. Higher pitch, more even, consistent sound that your average drag car does not produce. Mine doesnt......
