Default Optispark question

Did a quick search but didn't come up with anything...
Have a noob question:
Does the MSD distributor replace the GM Optispark completely from my 94 lt1?

I wouldnt buy an MSD over priced and theres been alot of problems with them. Im actually going to buy one off of ebay and give it a try. $160 and it comes with a life time warranty. Supposed to be able to handle 8000 rpm. Has some sort of new optical encoder. Worth a shot I think. Better than droppin the ball on an MSD.

This is their actual website, but the also sell them on ebay.
