Default 3.4 to lt1 swap harness help

what do you do about the 3.4 harness? i noticed its mixed up with the body harness too (headlights, turn, park, fog lamps)... do i have to seperate them from the engine harness? i think i fucked up by buying a caprice harness and not a f-body harness. i dont think it will work. any advice? car is a 94 camaro

i did the same thing you did a 3.4 auto swap to a 383 LT1 m6 swap. you need to swap the LT1 harness over. you have to swap the entire engine harness. i did my body harness to (interior) for the gauges and what not. and the computer you definately need to swap the harness unless your a wiring genious and can rewire the whole thing lol. but yea your gonna have to find a Z28 harness and swap it

pm with any questions or help

but the harness has the lights (headlights, fog, turn, etc) included in the whole thing. do i have to seperate those? and the harness runs through the firewall into the insturment panel. im lost as to what to do about the wiring. its not what i expected.

Try to get an F-body V8 harness then see if it plugs into your existing body harness. I think the two connect at the fire wall under the dash. If this does not work then you need a complete harness for the whole car.

im told the dash/insturment cluster needs to be changed too.... because the v6 cluster is different from the v8 cluster ie 110mph vs 140 mph

ok your speedo will be different correct the v8 speedo i believe is 160. *i thought* but its definately more and the v6 is like a 120 your tach will be off and your speedo will be off. yes the harness through your engine bay goes from the firewall. where it connects to the interior harness. wraps around hits all the lights all the motor **** and goes to the computer. literally you need to swap EVERYTHING!!! thats why i tell everyone who has ever showed any interest in this is to buy a donor car that you know evrything works and can drive then swap EVERYTHING... literally everything when i did mine i dropped both kmembers and pulled wiring harness the just swapped them. its quite easy but you cant mix and match between different cars and different years. you aldo have to have the same year wiring harness cause some of the wiring on different years i believe have very small differences.

Try this first^^. And yes you need a V8 gauge cluster, not the whole dash...
