Default Replace/install A/C lines with longtubes installed?

When I sid the LT1 swap in my wifes 97 Camaro, I didn't have all the A/C lines.

I've recently gathered everything to install the A/C.

My concern is the main line/hoses that attach to the rear of the compressor. It looks like I may have to remove the passenger header to install the hoses.

Anyone that has removed thier A/C (without hacking anything!) with LT's on the car should be able to anser this too

BTW, it has pacesetter 1 3/4"s on it.

This was a HUGH pain in the *** for me. I ended up unbolting everything from the acc. bracket just to get the ac lines in. good luck and stay calm haha

Getting to the A/C parts on these cars will drive you nuts! I had a hard time just doing the A/C delete on one.

I've been doing this same work this week. Remove the front 3 bolts holding the compressor in place and the bolt holding the rear support bracket from the compressor to the block and you'll be able to slide the compressor forward a couple/few inches. Once you do this, there is enough room to slide a wrench or ratchet behind there to get to that one bolt that holds the ac manifold onto the back of the compressor. You have to feed the new lines in from the bottom of the car, one of them will just push up to into the engine bay and the other will go to the condenser connection just above the radiator drain valve. Be carful about the line that goes up top and connects to the evaporator, there should be a strap that holds that line over to the dryer. If you don't have that strap, when the motor torques up the alternator fan will cut the line. Don't ask me how I know that, lol. I actually just got my new line today and will be putting it in tonight. If you have questions...this is OutCast from your local Mafia board. Feel free to PM me on there as I would be more likely to see it quickly.

I just redid the ac system on mine it was laughably easy while it was on jack stands. pull the ac compressor out and undo the hoses on the back side then slide the whole unit out. all of the lines are easy to get to break them apart and replace with new o-rings, new drier and the expansion valve are easy as well. The longest part was pulling a vacuum and waiting to make sure it held.
