the correct way is to put the stud in by hand.....when it stops turning you stop turning.....do not tighten them as much as you can by hand just stop when they stop.........use sealant on the end in the block and moly lube on the nut on the top.....also do not go straight to the 70ft/lbs......run three tightening sequences in the correct bolt pattern order 35lbs...55lbs....70lbs.....this will lay out the gasket nicely and give you a better chance at a good seal...........also THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! !! if the studs are NEW install the heads and torque....start the motor and allow it to come up to temp then shut it off and let it completely cool then retorque the studs.....this only has to be done with brand new studs but make sure you do this....espically if you are running a metal layer gasket such as a cometic
hope this helps!!
