I know. This sludge build-up is from the previous owner. I have had the car for about 18 months and only put 7k miles on it since I got it. This was the third oil change since I got it, and the oil has been black every time. That's why I pulled the vc's to see how it looked.

I've always run Mobil1, and I am amazed how clean the engine internals have stayed...very clean from under the valve covers all the way to the block...

engine will stay clean no matter what motor oil is used as long as it is changed when it should be.

I have heard mostly positive results with Sea-foam, but have never tried it myself. I've always used Mobil 1 on my WS6 and the valve covers and piston tops look spotless. Even when I pulled the pan to put a new pan gasket everything looked like brand new. My buddy commented when we had the pan off and stated "this motor is ridiculously clean".

Seafoam can and most likely will foul the plugs and clog up your O2 sensors. I'd recommend only doing it if you're planning to change the plugs and pull the O2s out while you do it.

I use it from time to time just prior to an oil change. I suck it into the intake through the smaller opti vacuum hose. Upon my first engine tear down, there was practically no carbon at all and the piston tops and valves were the normal colors but very clean.

I would never use Sea foam in the oil period. I am a believer that nothing goes in the oil but oil.

The white smoak mushroom cloud of death is quite impressive as well as the neighbors reactions to it.

So any problems you haven't had don't exist?

You probably just don't have an issue with carbon buildup in your chambers. If you did, it would clog your O2s after being exited from the cylinders. Does it happen to everyone, No. Would it be more likely to happen on a set of O2s with high mileage in a tired motor? Yes

Changing your oil every 3000 is the best medicine for sludge, my 65 f100 when I took the valve covers off, the heads were clean enough to eat off of, lol. I also change the oil in it every 2500-3000 miles and use valvoline. I have used seafoam, and it can work wonders for a dirty injector or a gunked up carb, but it wont cure mechanical problems.

Are you serious? Not only are you supposed to use only 1 can between crankcase, booster line and gas tank - not 3, but doing so every 12k miles? lol can you say overkill and a waste of time and money?
