Default 93 firebird fans..what do they turn on/off at

The gauge reads damn near 240-250 and then finally they turn on and then it drops down to about half the gauge which is around 220. IS this normal or not? Whats the designated on/off temps?
thanks

I believe they turn on at 225 and off at 190 but could be mistaken..As for the gauges they arent real smart when showing accuracy. Hense they are called dummy gauges.

Yeah the low speed fans turn on at 225 and the high speed fans turn on at 235. One trick I do around town is keep it on the defroster on low, all the way on cool. This cycles the a/c pump every now and then and keeps the fans on all the time, because the fans are on all the time when the a/c is on. I rarely go above 190 doing this in traffic.

Mine sat around 170 before the 160 thermometer insrall, slp fan switch, and tune. Our 93 temp gauge is pretty accurate unlike the later models temp gauge.
