Exclamation Y-Pipe for Hooker Longtubes ... advice please!!

Hey all,

Just bought a set of Hooker Super Comp LTs coated and now I am in the market for a off road Y. I noticed quite a few brand out there and they all appear very similar(Hooker, Pace Setter, Kooks, Ruk) I am leaning more towards the Hooker Y just cause I am certain it was constructed to work best with the Hooker LTs

Also is ceramic coating necessary for a Y-Pipe?

Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice on this would be appreciated.

Hooker or Mufflex are the only 2 out there that fit with hooker headers unless you go with a custom y-pipe. I live in Florida so I don't know how relevant this is for you but I never got even a hint of surface rust on any aluminized exhaust system I've had.

I'm running a Mufflex on my SS and have some rust on the collectors. I don't think you need to get the Y coated, if you have the extra $$ go for it.

I have the Hooker LT's with the Hooker y-pipe on my car for a year before I stopped driving it, and it has sat for almost 2 years now. The uncoated headers have a lot of surface rust on them of course, however, the y-pipe (uncoated) is still rust free.
