I know your problem, you said you first opened your bleed to the upper hose and then did the "Heater Hose", only bleed through the upper when she cools down and don't open the one that goes to your heater. It will suck air into your steam pipes and cause your temps to sky rocket! I found out the hard way and blew out my head gasket on the drivers side.
