Default Oil pan!

hey my Chevy Fam
1997 Camaro z28
My oil pan seems to be no good its leaking oil badly!
how hard is it to change it?

For you it will be pretty difficult. There are a few threads documenting the procedure - a search will yield tons of info.

You sure it's the pan and not the rear main seal?

It's actually alot easier to get the stock oil pan out than most people say. Lower the k-member so its just hanging on by a few threads on the bolts and jack up the motor as much as you can and it will slide right out.

mann my Car and oil wreck! it leaks from the timing cover from the rear main seal and the oil pan!
if it was you car with this problem which of the 3 leaks you would fix first?
how much am i looking to get these leaks fix in a shop?
can anyone give me and estimate of what im looking forward to pay?

Disconnect the stock y-pipe, take off the starter, remover the motor mount thru-bolts, jack up the engine as high as possible, lower the bolts that hold the k-member in place, remove the oil pan bolts, hope to God you can get it out.

I agree, but if it's an A4, you don't even have to drop the k-member.....

Most of the time, but I have seen some exceptions to this. Even A4's can need extra clearance when the engine/tranny is jacked up. Mine gave me so much hell (I'm an M6) that even when the k-member almost all the way out and the engine as high as possible it still took some hard pulling to remove it.
