You should skip the spray and go turbo.

if boost, wouldn't it be cheaper to switch over to a LSx setup (5.3 with a turbo)?

I think it would be a lot more impressive to be running 9's all motor. Not sure if possible or not with our LTx platform without some kind of power adder, I'm assuming it will still stay a street car in that regard.

I disagree, I am from the old school where I think its DAMN impressive for an all motor car to run well. But nowadays you get no kudo's for it. If you have a car like mine and get outrun by a car with a 250 shot on it that runs 11.70 on the motor....you just got beat...they aint takin the bottle off and they all want to race heads up.

So build all the power you can, all cars have power adders nowadays.

Still not sure what Im going to do here. I do know it will be fast have a PA and thats all at this point!
Im still gonna try and get in the 9s with the 355. It will be awhile before the new one is done so I have plenty of time.
Fast is right no props for going fast NA and you NEED some kind of power adder if ya even want to come close around here.

I keep telling my buddy the same thing about the LTx swap. That car would be nasty quick with my motor in it. We have another 331 LX on the other side of the garage thats pretty **** too, but Im gonna whack em both!

Good man! another faster LT1 in the works

It'd be cool to see more fast boosted LT1's, you don't see many people with D1SC's...do that lol

Boost is expensive and I want this car to run sooner than later but we will see what happens.

Im thinking half filled 385 (its bored .040 over and Im picking up that Cola 4340 crank on Wed.) Thats all Ive settled on so far. Should be a good base for whatever I decide to throw at it.

If I boost it I prob just keep these heads, If I spray I might even just use them on this block until I can afford a crazy set of heads/intake.

KOTs, hell ya if you keep going the way you are. YOu will have no problems
Also I have seen plenty 331s and 347s in the 9s with spray. So your buddy can easily do it. Hell he can even have a procharger on it and get in the 9s. It can all be done or he can go to the darkside and LSX the beast.

Thanks, Im gonna go as fast as possible with it so might as well do it now. 9.99 is the goal on the 355. The goal is unlimited on the 385 build

Rob both stangs have 331s one auto/4.10s,3600, ported E3s, TFS track heat intake, Mid length headers, zcam, & suspension.
The one pictured has a T5 tko 3.55s 10yr old twisted wedge heads with minor porting TFS street heat, 9.5:1 compession, but a slightly bigger cam then the Zcam also has mid headers. Stock suspension
