You dont need to remove the opti GEEZ. Take it apart, loctite the rotor screws and be done with it.
Do all the free mods, see the yellow section up on top of the LT1 section for those.
Do this
AIr intake
Headers
catback
Roller rockers
converter
drag radials
tune
Be WAXING stock Ls1 cars by 2-3 cars for 1/3 the money of the swap...PRICELESS.

Thanks guys I got it painted 3 months ago, Yea I can't sell it I really can't. I'm just thinking long term here for the swap no one works on LT1 cars in la that would be reputable. I don't trust these places except for mikes Corvette. is the swap worth it? I'm only 23 and in college.

I'm in the same boat bro, live in SoCal have owned my LT1 car for almost 10 years. Can't get rid of it. Came real close to doing an LSx swap, but then I bought a complete LT1 motor that I am going to build up. Then with the LSx coil on plug swap and the LSx computer swap, I can get HP Tuners and tune all three of my cars... And Haddad told me the same thing... To get rid of my LT1...

I haven't started on the lSx coil and comp conversion yet... What time are you going down on Friday? I have to work this Friday but I would like to check out some shops that don't hate on the LT1... I'm in Corona so I'm close to the OC...

yeah man keep the lt1, i dunno what that guys deal is but these cars are very reliable as long as you keep them maintained. Ive had mine 3 or 4 yrs now and its got 128k miles and still running strong. Ive only replaced mostly maintenance stuff and i dd my car everyday at least 1k miles a month. Just had to do the opti at 127k and the tranny is just now startin to get weak. I say keep the lt1 and put that 9k into a sweet *** street car.

So I went to Haddad motorsports, and he said LT1 are a bad car for daily driving . He told me to get rid of it and buy an ls based car, pretty much saying I'm not rich I can't afford the cost to have one, he doesn't know how much I make which isn't much ill tell u guys I make 1,200 every 2 weeks he owns a 95 z28 m6 as well but hes rich he owns the damn place. I'm just lost now that car is more valuable to me than anything personal reasons, he told me to sell it for w.e they give me. But I'm not going to. So I come to all u LT owners for advice. Should I keep my LT or swap it with the ls2. I don't want to sell my car. Just make it a powerhouse. Not that many ppl wanna touch or even tune lt1s in LA California.

Hah... "write me a blank cheque" so I can rip you off.
I'd say keep the LT1 and make sure the work is done by a reputable shop and don't forget supporting mods depending on how much power the car will make (tranny, rear end, etc when planning your build). Elliot as well as Ai packages are proven and def worth the money. There are quite a few people on here that can vouch for them.
