Default New best with the lt1

Went to nyirp last night and made around eight passes or so with the lt1. All but one pass were in the 11.3 range, best pass was an 11.32 at 119.6 . I want to get another tenth out of this thing and was curious if I should look at a ported stock or aftermarket throttle body.

Wow that is really quick for a stock bottom end with local ported heads and a 503 cam, nice job. What's the weight of the car? stall size? gearing?

Yes a larger TB would help a little. Just so you know, if the car is auto you will need to adjust the tune, I believe with a 6-speed you do not. BTW, do you have a ported intake manifold? I could see a tenth or so from that and a TB, maybe a tad more.

His car has always been sort of a freak for the mods it has. Last time I saw it, it had very minimal weight loss done to it. It had draglites but had a full interior. Under the hood it has most of the accessories even, like cruise control, abs, etc, etc...

Jay..can you post up the whole slip? I want to see the 60ft, 1/8th et and mph, to see where I stand against you.

Hey Joel, The 11.32 slip is MIA right at the moment but here is a 11.35 slip;

60' 1.537
1/8 7.202
mph 93.91
1/4 11.358
mph 119.26

As for the set up, the car has gotta be light. It has no sheet metal cut (under fender metal or such) or braces or door bars removed but the accessories are mostly removed now. It has the rear seat removed (for cage) and the factory rug yanked but still has both factory front seats.
The car slowed down this year with the install of the 12bolt but im slowly getting that et back.

origional Motor/trans with 62k, installed 503cam, msd opti, hooker headers w/slp cat back, local head porting, yank 3200, shift points raised to 6600 with 28" rear tires and 4.11 gears = cheap street/race car

Man those numbers are good. The unknown is obvious that your local head porter hit a homerun on those heads, he must have had his wheaties. Are you running stock control arms and t-arm?

Last one to 10's at nyirp is a rotten egg, lol. I'll see you up there as soon as I get a cage. Probably end of July early August.

I'd love to see this car in action. Im shooting for 10's NA in my 383 T/A. Its going to be the ultimate budget street car in the 10's hopefully. Lots of weight reduction in the future.
Really nice numbers man. Thanks for sharing.

Probably the best times I've seen with a cc503, stock ported heads, stock shortblock car. Quite impressive.

99% sure they weren't flowed. My friend ported them. He's the guy that built my intake as well. I'd guess and say they are in the 260 range maybe more. Everything on this car works together so well.
