Default Could it have caused some??

I somehow came across some old recalls and buletins on the 93-97 camaros and we pretty much know what they were, window motor, rear end clunk, and in a nice way the opti. I came across one that said that from the factory the pinion nut from the factory had to much preload wich means the pinion was not spinning freely and depending on how they set them up could have meant that the pinion was not contacting the ring gear properly causing failures. Does anybody get what I'm saying? I know the 10 bolt is weak and will not handle much but how many failed due to this? I think more than we all realize. Thoughts
