engine light on, can't get a code
I bought a 95 camaro z28 with a lt1 engine. The engine light wasn't on when I bought it, got it inspected and after that it came on.
It has been on ever since, I have checked the fuses and none are bad. I tried scanning the aldl and can't get a reading. Any suggestions?

Honestly, for us 95s, I think the best thing to do is to pick up an AKM cable (www.akmcables.com) and use some free scanning software (Datamaster, Freescan, etc.). Those programs will tell you far more than your typical code-reader.

Is there a certain scanner you would suggest i get? I would love to do it your way but I don't own a laptop to use the scanning software to hook up to the car. I don't have anyone I could borrow one from either.
I just really want to get my car on the road. If anybody has suggestions please let me know!!!

Okay so I spent two weeks trying to get the Super Auto Scanner CP9145. Went everywhere; paid for it at AutoZone, ordered it three times and everytime it got cancelled.
I got a refund and the guy finally decided to tell me that CP9145 was recalled and instead gave me CP9185 which is apparently the replacement for CP9145. I hope it works.
